1. About Our Service
Military Archives is a private, third-party document retrieval service. We assist veterans and authorized individuals in preparing and submitting requests for DD-214 and related military service records to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or any other government agency.
You may request your DD-214 directly from the NPRC at no cost through the National Archives website (archives.gov). By using our service, you are paying for our assistance in preparing and submitting that request on your behalf.
2. Eligibility
By using this service, you represent that you are:
- The veteran named in the request, or
- The next of kin or legal representative of a deceased veteran, or
- An authorized third party with legal authority to request the records
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. By submitting a request, you certify that the information you have provided is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
3. Service Fee
Our service fee is $150.00 USD per request. This fee covers our processing, preparation, and submission services. Payment is required before your request is processed. All payments are handled securely through Stripe.
4. Refund Policy
Because our service involves processing and submitting your request to a government agency, refunds are handled as follows:
- Before submission: If we have not yet submitted your request to the NPRC, you may request a full refund by contacting us within 48 hours of payment.
- After submission: Once your request has been submitted to the NPRC, no refund will be issued as the service has been rendered.
- Duplicate requests: If you accidentally submitted a duplicate request, contact us immediately and we will issue a refund for the duplicate.
To request a refund, contact us through our Contact Us page with your confirmation number.
5. Processing Times
We submit requests to the NPRC on your behalf, typically within 1–3 business days of payment. Once submitted, the NPRC's processing time is outside our control and typically takes 4–10 business days, but can take longer depending on the NPRC's current workload and the complexity of your request. We make no guarantee of specific delivery times.
6. Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information on your request form. Military Archives is not liable for delays or failures caused by incorrect or incomplete information submitted by the user. If your request is rejected by the NPRC due to inaccurate information, additional fees may apply for resubmission.
7. Limitation of Liability
Military Archives acts solely as a document preparation and submission service. We are not responsible for:
- Delays caused by the NPRC or other government agencies
- Records that are lost, incomplete, or unavailable at the NPRC
- Actions taken by third parties based on the records retrieved
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to this service shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific request.
8. Privacy
Your use of this service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
